Wedding Outfit

Now that I am done school, I thought I would make this blog back into more of a personal blog again and hopefully start doing “photograph of the Week’ again (I know I’ve said that before). But I am going to start doing them again. Hopefully starting next weekend!

That aside, I went to my Uncle’s wedding last night! I figured I would showoff what I wore because I waited until the last minute to find an outfit and was able to do it on a budget! Thank-You Forever 21!

Lipstick Cake

I made a cake in a shape of a lipstick. The hardest part was getting the colouring right. I’m very happy with how it turned out. Not to mention, it was tasty! Yum!

Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty

I went to this exhibit with no expectations and was lucky enough to not have to wait in line at the met to see it (the line up was 2 hours long after I got out). It was by far the most stunning, haunting and beautiful exhibit I have ever been to. It was very packed but the pieces overpowered the noise and the crowds. I was in awe with the entire thing. Here’s a video to learn more about his designs and the exhibit.

My Favorite Advice Websites

The internet has become a place to find out everything. A lot of the time, you just go to google and type it in and look at the first few pages. Which works really well.  And we all have bookmarked our favourite websites we like to go for advice and inspiration and whatnot.

For Health and Food:

Livestrong hands down is my favourite. It has tips on EVERYTHING from, Pregnancy, leg workouts,  Diet, children, and so on…   Check it out when you want to learn something about achieving a better lifestyle.

For inspiration and Graphic Design:

Smashing Magazine is a really good site to get inspiration from designing a website  to Photography. With showcases and tips from other graphic designers, this website helps out plenty.

Fashion & Beauty

The Lo Down is a cool place to visit for those who are fashion crippled like me and could use the fashion advice. The website also has dating tips as well. I like the website for its make-up advice and what is “in”  as far as fashion.

Let me know what your favs are. I could always use more advice 🙂

Open Letter To Those Struggling with Imperfections

To: All Imperfections of the World

Today, society obsessive over one thing: Beauty. How to get beauty, where to get beauty and what defines beauty.

We buy make up to cover up anything that we deem to be imperfect. We buy certain clothes, and the labels seem to matter.  The hottest trends, styles and what’s hot and what’s not. We buy the magazine to judge what other people are wearing.  Some of us even pay big bucks to get plastic surgery. We do all this to make ourselves feel better.

There’s always that one thing we don’t like. But keep this in mind; we always want we don’t have. The one thing you wish you could change, some one else wants.  We get so wrapped up in the fact that we cannot be happy without the perfect body and perfect clothes.

If I look back on the times where I have truly been happy and enjoyed myself, I wasn’t covered in makeup; I was covered in bug spray from those summer campfires.  I wasn’t dressed up; I was dressed down in my sweats drinking tea on my front porch with family and friends. I wasn’t in designer shoes, I was in my running shows playing road hockey. I was happy when I had everything I ever needed, and looks didn’t matter or no one cared in those moments.

Those little imperfections that you hate so much are what make you unique.  Beautiful can’t be defined in one way. It something different for everyone but this I know: It is a journey to find who you are, and the way you feel. Once you accept who you are and feel comfortable within yourself. You at the end of the day are the only one who can say you are beautiful.

Instead of searching for what makes you beautiful in this society by the clothes and make up, look inward, and around you. You might just find out that you are beautiful and you got everything to be happy.

Bling Bling Party

I went to a bling bling party that was basically a bunch of accessories for sale at a friends house. There was so much stuff there, it was a bit overwhelming.  Apparently this girl went shopping all over the world for all these different things.

When there is somebody selling things at a house, the pressure is on to find something you like and buy.  It seems to be consider rude if you don’t. I ended up finding more then I wanted to. I only had so much cash on me so, I ended with a very colourful purse and cool bracelet.
